Matt and Erica contacted us looking for some help adding storage and improving the appearance of a room in their basement. The room served as a rec room, so incorporating a TV and storage for their sons' toys were functional goals of the project. With 14' of wall space available they had plenty of room for vertical growth.
The room was relatively small given the layout, so the challenge was maximizing the usable space while allowing good flow to the adjacent rooms. A 45-degree open-end cabinet achieved this goal. The wall also had existing electrical and communications jacks, and we were able to integrate these and mount them in the backs of the cabinets to retain their use.
The project features Shaker-style doors to meet their simple, modern design aesthetic and drawers with adjustable dividers for plenty of toy storage options.
